About the Role

Patrick Sprack Limited is currently seeking an HVAC Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our HVAC division.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing HVAC service work, preventative maintenance programs, equipment replacements, and mechanical scopes within construction projects. The Operations Manager will lead field and office teams, coordinate labour and resources, maintain strong client relationships, and help drive the operational and financial performance of the division.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Project Management

  • Oversee HVAC service operations, preventative maintenance, equipment replacements, and mechanical construction scopes.
  • Coordinate schedules, labour, equipment, and project resources to support efficient project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and identify operational risks, issues, and scheduling constraints.
  • Participate in workload planning, bid reviews, forecasting, and divisional planning.
  • Support estimating, pricing, negotiations, and HVAC bid submissions.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with contractual, regulatory, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Review and approve timesheets, job entries, and operational documentation.

Business Development & Client Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial, industrial, and construction clients.
  • Support the development of new HVAC service and project opportunities.
  • Work closely with estimating to maintain visibility of upcoming opportunities and project pipelines.
  • Provide client support throughout project execution and after completion.
  • Represent Patrick Sprack Limited at client meetings, site visits, and industry functions.

Team & Resource Management

  • Lead HVAC field and office teams, including technicians, installers, apprentices, and administrative personnel.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and employee development.
  • Coordinate workforce scheduling and labour requirements.
  • Manage the allocation of vehicles, tools, and equipment to support operational efficiency.
  • Work with HR to address workforce requirements and employee concerns.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable OHSA, TSSA, WSIB, ESA, mechanical code requirements, and PSL safety policies.
  • Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and JHSC initiatives.
  • Participate in safety incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the HVAC division.

Financial & Operational Performance

  • Monitor divisional budgets, job costs, margins, labour efficiency, and key performance indicators.
  • Review purchase orders, progress claims, change orders, and invoicing documentation.
  • Support financial forecasting, annual budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and standardize processes for HVAC service and construction workflows.
  • Support the adoption of digital tools and field management systems.

Requirements

  • Diploma or certification in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, Construction Management, or an equivalent field.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive HVAC industry experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, service diagnostics, equipment installation, and project execution.
  • Knowledge of TSSA regulations, mechanical codes, permitting, and inspection requirements.
  • Experience with estimating, project scheduling, job costing, forecasting, and contract administration.
  • Experience managing field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client relationships.
  • Valid G-Class driver’s licence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HVAC management software platforms.
  • Gas Technician Licence (G1) is considered a strong asset.
  • 313A or 313D Refrigeration Licence is considered an asset.
